Boulder Creek is located in the northern reaches of Santa Cruz county. It has its roots in logging, stretching back to the 1870’s when the town was originally known as Lorenzo. The area is still known for its heavily forested mountains, dominated by tall redwood trees. California’s first state Park, Big Basin, is located in Boulder Creek. It has an excellent proximity to Silicon Valley via Highway 9 or Bear Creek Road (to Los Gatos, or Skyline Boulevard / Highway 35 to go further up the peninsula) which makes it an excellent choice for those who work in Santa Clara or San Mateo counties.
